Robert (Bob) Prescott – served for 11 years as Coordinator of Partnerships for the Mesoamerica Region. He continues to connect individuals, churches and districts in North America with special needs and mission sites seeking multi-year relationships. There is growing interest in having a “sister church” relationship that provides direct involvement in cross-cultural outreach and ministry. Bob also facilitates directed giving for special mission projects.
Bob has also been facilitating travel and teams to Cuba, where he lived for 11 years in his youth. Since 2011, government regulations have permitted travel to Cuba for religious purposes, including construction of buildings. Nazarene Work and Witness teams can now go from the U.S. to Cuba! In the past 5 years, over 110 teams and 1,200 people have served in Cuba.
The son of missionaries Lyle and Grace Prescott, Bob lived 19 years in the Caribbean and is fluent in Spanish. He majored in religion at Pasadena Nazarene College (now PLNU) and did graduate studies at Cornell University. He pastored two churches in Puerto Rico, and planted a Hispanic church in Oxnard, California. Bob traveled to 67 countries during his 14 years with Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, guiding crisis response, training national leaders, and helping churches reach out in love to meet local needs.
Bob is also a public administrator. His secular career was with U.S. and city governments, where he administered housing, community development, and disaster relief programs. Bob and his wife Bernice reside in Davidsonville, Maryland, where Bob served as NMI President of the Mid-Atlantic District for 13 years.
