It’s Revival We Need
Psalm 85:6 (NIV)
6 Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?
I can’t wait to see what God has in store for the Bangor Church of the Nazarene to accomplish for His Kingdom this year. Would there be MUCH REJOICING. People brought to Christ, people sanctified wholly as vessels of honor for God, relationships restored, families reunited, a special moving of God’s Spirit in our worship.
Since we tend to weaken spiritually as time passes by, we all need revival. There are myriads of distractions that tend to draw us away from experiencing the continuing Presence of God in our lives the way He would like us to experience. Without the manifest Presence of God, the church will become weak, sick and unable to allow God’s ‘Kingdom to come, His will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.’ The verb “revive,” the root of the noun revival means “to bring to life again.” Revival gives the church the opportunity to refocus on God’s majestic Presence, to gather together to sing, pray, give, and seek a strengthened connection with God and the spiritual life He produces in us as we abide in Him.
We have scheduled in our church calendar 4 focused meetings to intensely seek God’s face and hear and respond to the preaching of God’s Word. The dates are March 29 10:40 a.m., 6:00 p.m., Mon. 7:00 p.m., Tues. 7:00 p.m.
Our speaker for the revival is our District Pastor, Kerry Willis. Pastor Kerry is a native of coastal North Carolina, the son of a fisherman and a fisherman for the Son. He pastored Harrisonburg Virginia First Church of the Nazarene for 24 years. Kerry now serves as Superintendent of the Philadelphia District Church of the Nazarene. He prefers the title “district servant.” These seven words make up the mission and vision of his life: Presence Matters Most. No Invisible People. Unity.
We have made some commitment papers available that look like what is spelled out below. The results we receive in drawing closer to God and letting our church reach out in sharing Christ with our community in the ongoing future will be in direct proportion to what we invest. Please take a commitment paper, check what you will do to invest, sign it, and place it in the offering plate as a covenant between you and God. Thank you.
With God’s Help…
_ 1. I will be in every service of revival.
2. I will clear my week of as many things I can so the
enemy has No say about my being here.
3. I will come prayed up and expecting a flood of God’s
Presence To come upon ME and our church family.
4. I will support this revival as God leads me financially &
in prayer.
5. I will seek God’s face about who I might invite with
me to these special meetings.
