January 2022

With a New Year comes New Opportunities

The 2021 year is in the history books. It has been a time of transition and change for many. Like my family, some are adapting to a new home, a new job, a new environment, or new situations. Some of these are welcomed changes, and some are not. Some people are adapting to life without a loved one at their side. That is a hard and sometimes painful place to be. Some of us are dealing with illnesses that either affects us or someone we love. Still others face challenges related to crisis within the home.
Regardless of where we stand, we know we can stand with the help of God and the strength that only He can provide. I find comfort in the words from Isaiah 41:10 that says, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” When reading his, I imagine the strong hand of God working on the behalf of His children. I see that God is lifting up his people who have experienced or are experiencing troubles and heartache.
God is able to mend broken hearts and rejuvenate fallen people. He is the ‘Master’ over all life. There is nothing impossible for him. His reach is never too short and his timing is perfect. There is no task that is too difficult or too complicated that we could ever face that God is unable to help. His name is victorious and his words are powerful and true. In him, we are ‘more than conquerors’ and ‘greater than the world’.
This is why 2022 is anticipated with great enthusiasm. A New Year is a time to reflect upon new beginnings and fresh starts. Our challenges may seem to be overwhelming or out of control; but we should remember that nothing is impossible for God. He heals broken hearts and broken homes. He mends weakened bodies, as well as damaged spirits. He is in the business of helping his people navigate the complex paths of life. We are never alone and never orphaned.
So as we enter into a new year, don’t forget that it can be a new opportunity and a fresh beginning. In 2 Corinthians 12:9, God says, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” I would challenges each of us to look to 2022 as an opportunity to heal, grow, change and prosper according to God’s will and plan for our lives. Have a happy and blessed 2022.

Beloved Church Family,
On the behalf of Debbie, Stephen, Elizabeth and I, we would like to say thank you for the thoughtful and generous Christmas gift from the people of the Bangor Church of the Nazarene. You have been more that a blessing and we count ourselves extremely blessed to be your pastoral family. We love you all very much.
The Williams Family

Dear Church family,
Sandy and I appreciate so much your expression of love and your generosity in the Christmas gift you presented us this Christmas season. You have always been a blessing to us and we love each one of you as we have worked side by side in ministry here. Our ministry and opportunities only get brighter and brighter as we continue following Pastor Dennis’ ministry.
It’s exciting to be a part of a church family who is interested in building God’s Kingdom and moving forward. I can’t wait to see how God will be leading and using us as a beacon of light and life here. Again, THANK YOU.

Love, Pastor Ken and Sandy
