Desperate For God’s Power to be Manifested

Scripture: Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, and Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Our small group just completed our Bible Study called “When God’s Spirit Moves” by Jim Cymbala, pastor of Brooklyn Tabernacle. The whole purpose of the book is to remind us that the church must not merely depend on human operational input, when God has provided the endless power of the Holy Spirit to be the engine that enables God’s miraculous things to happen today in His Church.  We believe Holy Spirit has life-changing power to give to every believer. Our task in life is not to try figuring everything out; it is to wait – to tarry for power. As He fills us, power comes. The early Christians experienced great results in spite of weak credentials. Peter had a new boldness; Philip did amazing things. Since Jesus promised us God’s power, we want to be living in God’s blessing and His power in our church. Just having the right message isn’t enough. Power is needed. It was something from heaven, it was supernatural. Jesus said we will never be, and do what we’ve been called to be and do without this power.

Revival is the realization that God has something better for the church than she is experiencing right now. We hunger for more of God. We humble our human spirit to be more under Holy Spirit’s control. We have a representative of Jesus, Dan Bohi, coming to us October 23-25 …..Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Monday and Tuesday evening, and we want to be preparing ourselves in prayer, to be seeking more of God and opening ourselves to what God wants to be speaking and doing in our lives during this time.  We pray that it will be a time of refreshing as we gather to seek God’s face and hear God’s Word proclaimed in ways only Dan can do. Let’s be praying into seeing more of God and His glory during these meetings…that people will find God’s healing spiritually, emotionally, spiritually and that what we receive will become foundational to our continuing ministry over the Thanksgiving holiday and Christmas season. Dan is in high demand and God is mightily using him these days. We are privileged to have him come to us. May our continuing prayer be: “Come Holy Spirit, O how we need You; Come Holy Spirit, we need You.”
